Skin Tags

Skin tags, or acrochordons, are small, benign skin growths that will often appear in areas where the skin folds, or rubs on clothing. They sometimes appear for no apparent reason While they are harmless, skin tags can sometimes cause discomfort or self-consciousness, leading patients to seek removal options.

what are skin tags?

Skin tags are typically seen as flesh-coloured or slightly darker growths, hanging off the skin by a thin stalk. They are more common in adults, and while their exact cause is unknown, they tend to develop in areas of friction such as the neck, underarms, and sometimes under the breasts.

Why Choose Cryotherapy?

Cryotherapy offers a safe and effective solution for skin tag removal. It's a quick procedure, typically taking just a few seconds to treat each skin tag. The treatment is virtually painless, and there's no downtime—you can return to your normal activities immediately after the procedure.

If skin tags are causing you discomfort or affecting your confidence, we're here to help. Book a consultation today to learn more about Cryotherapy treatment. Please feel free to send us a message if you have any questions regarding the treatment.

Cryotherapy Treatment for Skin Tags

Verve Medical Aesthetics, we utilise the innovative cryotherapy technique to safely and effectively treat skin tags. Cryotherapy is a treatment that uses extreme cold to destroy unwanted cells. This method is highly precise, allowing us to target only the skin tag without damaging the surrounding skin. Multiple skin tags and other skin lesions can be treated in one visit.

How Cryotherapy Works

Cryotherapy literally means treatment using low temperatures. The common agent used by doctors, including ours, is liquid nitrogen. Liquid nitrogen is extremely cold, and when applied with a spray gun, it freezes the cells within the skin tag, causing them to rupture and destroy the cell. This process is quick, usually lasting only a matter of seconds.

Cryotherapy treatment is a quick, pain-free procedure typically completed within a routine appointment. A blister will form within 24 hours of treatment, naturally resolving over the following days, leaving a smoother, tag-free skin surface.

After the treatment, it's normal for a blister to form within 24 hours. If it pops, clean it and apply a plaster. We recommend applying an antiseptic cream twice daily.
